Beach/town:	Developed beach town with tons of shops, bars restaurants and services. Many nightlife options. Gray sand beach with surf breaks for all levels. Swimming OK depending on the tide and current conditions.

Activities:	Surfing, SCUBA diving, deep sea fishing, snorkel/sunset cruises, language schools, gym, pierceings/tattoos, casinos, bike/scooter/ATV rentals. Most tours will pick up in Playa Grande.

Restaurants:	All types of cusine offered in all price ranges in all types of settings. Try some of our favorites: La Baula (pizzeria), Breakfast Grinds (hearty breakfasts), Nogui's (varied menu), Pedro's (fresh seafood).

Drive Time:	20 - 25 minutes

How to Get There:	Exit Playa Grande towards Matapalo and take a right in Matapalo (just past the bridge). Follow this road for about 5-8 minutes until you come to Huacas, take a right at the crossroads (you will see signs for Tamarindo). Follow this road for about 8-10 minutes and take another right in the town of Villarreal. Tamarindo is about 4 kilometers ahead on this road.
	You can also take a boat taxi. It is about $2 and 2 minutes for the ride across the estuary. Boat taxis do not run after 4:00p.m.
