Float down the scenic rivermouth separating Playas Grande and Tamarindo.
Best in the early morning, this tranquil ride aboard a small covered panga includes naturalist guide, fruit and juice or water. Boats pick up and drop off at the estuary entrance one to two minutes walking from all Palm Beach rentals. | | | | Discover the beauty of three types of mangrove; red, black & south in this protected biological reserve. | | Bird lovers will have the opportunity to see herons, ecrus, kingfishers, mangrove hawks, sandpipers and more. | | | | | Among the many species of animals that call the estuary home are crocodiles. Most commonly seen during the nightly low tide, also spotted taking in the morning sun. | | Take a short walk into the reserve to see (and hear) groups of howler monkeys swinging from tree to tree. |
Tour lasts approximately two hours. Daily departure times depend on the tide. Reservations can be made with at least one day advance notice. Great activity for nature lovers and groups with children of all ages. $25/person. Children are free or receive a discounted rate depending on age. |
