Leatherback Turtle Watch

See the nesting site of the rare Leatherback turtle (La Baula).   

The Leatherback is the largest sea turtle in the world.  Protected as part of Parque Nacional Marino Las Baulas, Playa Grande is their nesting beach.  See the females emerge from the sea, make their way up the white sand beach to dig a hole to deposit their eggs.  Small groups are lead by park officials to witness this natural phenomenon. 

Meeting times vary from 6pm to midnight and depend on the tide.  Length of the tour depends on the turtles.  November - February only.  Reservations recommended.  Passport required. 

$25/person.  All proceeds go to the National Park.
