Meet the Rescued Animals.
Monkey Park is an environmental refuge and butterfly farm created in 2000. Covering 23 acres of secondary dry tropical forest, rescued animals receive specialized care focusing on recovery and eventual return to their natural environment. Volunteer and adoption opportunities available.  | | | | An experienced guide will lead you through the natural trails. Find out what brought each species to the center and learn about their feeding, mating and lifestyle habits. | | Specific animals vary as some are released into the wild. Others, due to a variety of factors (injury, human contact, etc.) must remain under the care of the refuge. | | | | | Expect to see a variety of monkeys, parrots, tucans, raccoons, crocodiles, wild cats & more. | | The large gift shop features hammocks, artwork, jewlery and many goods made from Guanacaste hardwoods. |
Tour lasts approximately one to one and a half hours. Tours offered daily. Call ahead to reserve. Great activity for curious animal lovers of all ages. $15/person. Children under 3 are free. Click here for more details. |
